I fought with it for a long time. I was getting help from an AI to do this stuff, and we eventually ran out of options, so it recommended I send this bug report. I've never done so before.
I was eventually able to resolve it much later, with the help of a different AI. I do not recall all the details, but I believe there was a conflict between python versions and the system I was using. I had never been able to get the virtual environments to work, so I had been using apt to install modules like numpy systemwide as a workaround. But that doesn't always work.
