An update of cython is needed for Python 3.14. Without this, several packages will FTBFS when Python 3.14 is added as a supported version in Debian (see #1117927). >From the release notes, support for Python 3.14 was added in cython 3.1.4 released on 2025-09-16 [1], with a follow-up 3.1.5 bugfix release on 2024-10-19 [2].
