Package: gvfs Version: 1.58.0-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I plugged my Xperia V phone into Usb for charging, and I found out that my logs were filled with tons of this line: 2025-10-27T13:25:50.288640+01:00 tucano gvfsd[164467]: PTP: reading event an error 0x01 occurred I looked around the web and found out that this is an occasional old problem. The issue here is that it spit over 400.000 lines in 1h20', which averages at more than 80 lines per second. It stopped once I removed the phone from the plug as it was charged, which means that it would have happily continued filling the syslog with the above message if I had left the phone plugged in the usb port. I think this problem deserves attention. Whatever the message means, rate limiting is necessary in this case to avoid filling people's disks. -- Francesco Potortì (ricercatore) Mobile: +39.348.8283.107 ISTI - Area della ricerca CNR Teams: wnlabisti via G.
