It seems that there is the possibility to link object files too (it doesn't say NO MESON)There is a regression in the meson backend which has been fixed a few weeks ago in the upstream main branch. I'm backporting the fix to the 2.3 release, so the upcoming Debian release of NumPy 2.3.4 will have this bug resolved.
