Looking at the changes it seems indeed only minor tweaks,
eg. changes like "${IPSET_SKIP_SAVE}x" = "yesx" to
"x${IPSET_SKIP_SAVE}x" = "xyes" aren't changing anything.
so the remark from Basitan is understandable.
The BTS has several open bugs, you should triage those.
As this is a native packge, adopting it means you become "upstream":
What are your further plans?
