It does not seem to happen anymore in unstable, but it still happens 100% of the time in bookworm and trixie, which are still supported distributions. The failure is not random at all on certain VMs from AWS. They have latest-generation CPUs from AMD, so they are not slow. I'm creating a VM for you to experiment first-hand and will send you the detail access privately. [ If you don't know why the failing tests fails, I suggest that they are disabled. I find hard to believe that the package does not work because this flaky (or wrongly designed) test fails ]. Thanks.
