Giving a closer look to other open bugs on Sway, I think this can be a case of #1116943. I'm not yet merging it because I'm not convinced it is — I _am_ affected by it (just running "swaymsg output * power off" kills my Sway session), but it does not happen reliably enough: I often leave my session open when I go do stuff away from my system, and although it _sometimes_ dies, it does not always happen 😑
