It seems podman 5.8 will be released at some point, and it should handle
the migration almost seamlessly without having to resort to a full
reset. In case it's not seamless, they'll provide `podman system migrate
--migrate-db`.

However, though it could work for sid/testing (and it should be noted in
the NEWS file), that probably won't do it for next stable where the bump
will be from 5.4.x (as in stable) to 6.x which won't do the migration at
all.
