Package: xfce4 Version: 4.20.1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
The power save in trixie is so aggressive that it shuts down modern monitors completely (tested on Iiyama, Kurui and Samsung). As a result, screen lock shuts off the monitor and xfce4 tries to run a "connect new monitor" dialogue on a blankblack screen (the monitor comes up from a power off/disconnect state). This makes any desktop with xfce4 and trixie unusable - if you get the monitor into this state you can recover only by restarting lightdm from a text console. There is a workaround. If there is a default profile created in the xfce monitor settings, xfce4 can load that and you get a working system. -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.12.57+deb13-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_CPU_OUT_OF_SPEC, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages xfce4 depends on: ii libxfce4ui-utils 4.20.1-1 ii thunar 4.20.2-1+deb13u1 ii xfce4-appfinder 4.20.0-2 ii xfce4-panel 4.20.4-1 ii xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin 0.4.9-1 ii xfce4-session 4.20.2-2 ii xfce4-settings 4.20.1-1 ii xfconf 4.20.0-1 ii xfdesktop4 4.20.1-1 ii xfwm4 4.20.0-1 Versions of packages xfce4 recommends: ii desktop-base 13.0.4 ii mate-polkit 1.26.1-4+b1 ii tango-icon-theme 0.9.0-1 ii thunar-volman 4.20.0-1 ii xfce4-notifyd 0.9.7-2 ii xorg 1:7.7+24+deb13u1 Versions of packages xfce4 suggests: ii xfce4-goodies 4.20.0 ii xfce4-power-manager 4.20.0-1 -- no debconf information
