Package: nvidia-driver Version: 590.44.01-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
I ran into issues trying to install the nvidia driver on debian 13 rt. I followed the instructions on the debian wiki for the installation. After installing, running `dkms status` would say that the driver was installed. But when I rebooted the computer, the driver would not load. After some troubleshooting, I found out that the driver was installed for a regular kernel but not for an rt kernel. I fixed it by purging the drivers, installing `cuda-keyring_1.1-1_all.deb` from https://developer.download.nvidia.com/compute/cuda/repos/debian13/x86_64/ , updating apt, then installing the drivers. I made a post on the nvidia dev forums here: https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/cant-get-nvidia-driver-to-work-on-deabian-13-rt-laptop/353618/12 -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.12.57+deb13-rt-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_CA:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages nvidia-driver depends on: ii nvidia-driver-libs 590.44.01-1 ii nvidia-kernel-dkms 590.44.01-1 ii nvidia-kernel-support 590.44.01-1 ii nvidia-vdpau-driver 590.44.01-1 ii xserver-xorg-video-nvidia [xserver-xorg-video-nvidia] 590.44.01-1 nvidia-driver recommends no packages.
