Hello. I can't speak in the name of debian-med, because I'm here mainly for QA stuff, but I believe this q2cli package belongs to a "family" of "q2" packages and they come together.
In fact, there are some commits in salsa which indicate that dropping this package was maybe not the desired outcome: https://qa.debian.org/cgi-bin/vcswatch?package=q2cli (btw: Not sure if your script can look at recent commits in salsa to prevent possible false positives). I'll leave to Andreas to reassign this bug back or not. Thanks. ----- Forwarded message from Helmut Grohne <[email protected]> ----- Date: Tue, 09 Dec 2025 13:39:50 -0000 From: Helmut Grohne <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Subject: [Debian-med-packaging] Bug#1116672: Proceeding with removal of q2cli Resent-CC: [email protected] Control: severity 1116672 normal Control: retitle 1116672 RM: q2cli -- RoQA; rc-buggy Control: reassign 1116672 ftp.debian.org Control: affects 1116672 + src:q2cli Dear q2cli maintainer and ftp team, a month has passed since filing a suggestion to remove q2cli from Debian. It was suggested for removal due to not being part of trixie nor forky and having accumulated a long-standing RC bug. * #1076080: q2cli: FTBFS in sid (python3.12) Last modified: 1 year, 3 months Since the suggestion bug was neither closed nor tagged in a month, silent consent to proceed with removal is assumed.
