Dear Maintainer,

I encountered an issue while attempting to pair my Logitech mouse with a Logi
Bolt receiver using Solaar on a clean installation of Debian Stable with the
Plasma desktop environment. The error I received indicates a NoneType being
found during the pairing attempt.

This issue occurs solely when trying to pair with the Logi receiver.

Steps taken:

1. I installed Solaar (version: 1.1.14-4) after setting up the clean system.
2. I used `solaar show` to identify the device ID of my mouse, which I then
used with the command `solaar pair <id>`. However, this resulted in an error
indicating a TypeError.
3. I attempted to execute Solaar with elevated privileges using `sudo solaar`,
but the error persisted.
4. I checked the compatibility of my mouse with the receiver and confirmed that
they should work together.
5. I tried to pair the mouse using both the command line interface and the
graphical user interface.

Despite these efforts, each attempt to pair the mouse resulted in the same
TypeError. This suggests that there may be an incompatibility with the version
of Python being used with Solaar.

I expected Solaar to successfully recognize and pair with the Logitech mouse,
allowing me to use it without issues on my Debian system.
