This package has a direct Build-Depends on the dbus package. This is probably a larger dependency than it really needs, and conflicts with use of the non-default dbus-broker package as a system bus. For details of how to replace this dependency, please see: https://salsa.debian.org/utopia-team/dbus/-/blob/debian/unstable/debian/replacing-dbus-dependency.txt?ref_type=heads If the only reason for this dependency is to be able to run unit tests via dbus-run-session(1) or similar, then the dbus-daemon package would be a good replacement for dbus. I also notice that this source package has a Build-Depends (not a runtime Depends!) on "default-dbus-session-bus | dbus-session-bus". This is probably not actually useful: buildd chroot/container environments don't start a desktop session, so this dependency won't actually give you a working session bus.
