Package: gajim
Version: 2.1.1-2
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected]
Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
I got a new computer and installed Trixie from netinst usb/iso.
I installed Gajim and tried to add my XMPP account.
It didn't work, terminal reported failed to parse jid or similar,
and user interface did not let me continue
(it had a blocking triangle saying the account name was invalid).
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I removed all the gajim files from ~/.local, ~/.config, ~/.cache,
then ran sudo apt build-dep gajim.
* What was the outcome of this action?
On restarting gajim after this, I could add my XMPP account without issues.
This makes me think the gajim package is missing an important runtime
dependency related to parsing strings.
Thanks,
Claude
