Pidgin 3 is currently in pre-alpha, but hopefully it will be ready in time for Debian 14. More discussion about this is at https://bugs.debian.org/883214 Pidgin 3 already includes support for storing passwords in libsecret. Therefore, I believe this package will be obsolete once Pidgin 3 lands in Unstable. I'm filing this bug early because pidgin-gnome-keyring would need to be removed from Testing to complete the eventual Pidgin 3 transition. Thank you, Jeremy Bícha
