Debian has provided /usr/lib/modprobe.d/ for the purpose of shipping modprobe
blacklists and options for several releases already.

It would be desirable for firmware-linux & friends to move their modprobe files
to it. Doing so will also require deleting the old files to avoid them showing
up as orphan configs e.g.

rm_conffile /etc/modprobe.d/intel-microcode-blacklist.conf

See dpkg-maintscript-helper (1) for details.
