Package: mutter Version: 48.7-0+deb13u1 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected]
Hi. Today, I ran "apt upgrade" on my laptop. There were a lot of updates (13.2 -> 13.3). I've noticed that gnome-shell was updated from 48.4 to 48.7. My laptop is connected to an external monitor via HDMI. When I boot it, i can see GDM login screen on the internal screen, and I can see GDM's gray background on the external monitor. All is ok here. But after I type login and password, both the external and internal screens are OFF, and I can't use my system. In Gnome Settings, I always turn off the internal screen. Black screen appeared immediately after the 13.2->13.3 upgrade. My laptop is Lenovo ThinkPad AMD Ryzen™ 5 7530U with Radeon™ Graphics × 12. I also have an old Macbook 2012 Pro with Intel HD graphics. The issue does not happen there. I also checked if the issue happens in the prev. kernel 6.12.57. It also happens with the older kernel. I suspect there is a bug in mutter / gnome-shell, but I am not 100% sure. -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.3 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.12.63+deb13-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB.UTF-8 Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages mutter depends on: ii adwaita-icon-theme 48.1-1 ii gnome-settings-daemon-common 48.1-1 ii gsettings-desktop-schemas 48.0-1 ii libc6 2.41-12+deb13u1 ii libgles2 1.7.0-1+b2 ii libglib2.0-0t64 2.84.4-3~deb13u2 ii libmutter-16-0 48.7-0+deb13u1 ii mutter-common 48.7-0+deb13u1 mutter recommends no packages.
