Package: distribution-gpg-keys
Version: 1.115+ds
Severity: normal

Hello,

In Debian, we have long used the “gpg” name to refer to modern-day-OpenPGP
(having migrated from old-school “pgp” around two decades ago). However,
“gpg” refers to a specific implementation (GnuPG) — and particularly, an
implementation that has decided to steer away from the OpenPGP
standardization work.

Nowadays we have several interoperable OpenPGP implementations. And while
this project is named upstream “distribution-gpg-keys”, I request you
consider renaming the Debian package name to “distribution-openpgp-keys”,
to better reflect the nature of its contents.

Thanks!

   – Gunnar.
