Package: gthumb Version: 3:2.6.9-3.1 Severity: normal I was importing photos from my camera running gthumb as root because of a permissions problem in the usb interface.
The photo were saved as root: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1046201 2006-06-29 14:02 00001.jpg I then exited the root gthumb and run gthumb as "paolo" user. I selected all the images and made a rotation from the toos menu. Unespectedly, gthumb didn't report an error as I thought. Besides that, gthumb changed the photo files. After the rotation I had: -rw-r--r-- 1 paolo paolo 1035558 2006-06-29 14:14 00001.jpg The only way that may be done is if gthumb invokes the rotation program with sudo. That is confirmed by the fact that in my system paolo is allowed to use sudo without password.
