Took another look and the one possible issue I found is in the autopkgtest, that relies on a hardcoded result for the A record of a domain name (www.altstu.ru). Any change to that DNS record would cause the autopkgtest to fail even when there's nothing wrong with the package. Changing the test host to one of the DNS root servers might provide a target that is less likely to change and for which the expected IP address could even be determined at runtime from the info on the root servers published at [1].
