Andreas (ah) and I started removing pidof from maintscripts in 2022, but
we did not complete the removal. I think pidof can be replaced with
something else in most maintscripts. After that there will be perhaps
half a dozen of packages left whose maintscripts really really need pidof.
and Depends: whatever-pidof-provider added?
Pre-Depends, not Depends. A discussion on d-devel@ will be needed.
