the difference between 4.5-1 and 4.5-2 are just added debian po translation files, also the builds are two days apart from each other I don't think any toolchain changes happened in these two days that would result in different binary behavours.
from your log.. were you doing the two invocations under different kernel versions? if so, this would point to a kernel problem rather than an mdadm issue (which you could test easily/rule out if it's true or not).
