Huh, I checked the debian bug tracker before reporting but didn't think to check for an upstream debian specific bug :). > If switching to gawk is not an option I've got no problem switching to gawk, I'm just hoping to save somebody else the headache of it mysteriously not working and having to figure out they need to switch to gawk.
