Done, reported upstream via the GitHub issue linked above.
Upstream already reacted quickly by reverting the simplification in icdiff and releasing 2.0.10 [1]. I just uploaded 2.0.10 to unstable. Once this has built, could you please provide some feedback whether this fixed your observed issue? If so, feel free to close this bug ticket.
