Package: firefox-esr
Version: 140.7.0esr-1
Severity: serious

Setting to serious as this will have to be done for the next release
anyway. And the current status does not seem clean (see below).

The firefox-esr package has just been rebuilt against libvpx12
instead of libvpx11 (140.7.0esr-1 → 140.7.0esr-1+b1). However,
it still primarily recommends libavcodec61, which still depends
on libvpx11 as it is no longer built by ffmpeg (it is replaced
by libavcodec62):

Recommends: libavcodec61 | libavcodec-extra61 | libavcodec60 |
libavcodec-extra60 | libavcodec59 | libavcodec-extra59 | libavcodec58 |
libavcodec-extra58 | libavcodec57 | libavcodec-extra57 | libavcodec56 |
libavcodec-extra56 | libavcodec55 | libavcodec-extra55 | libavcodec54 |
libavcodec-extra54 | libavcodec53 | libavcodec-extra53

So there seem to be 2 issues:

1. firefox-esr primarily recommends a package that it no longer built
(libavcodec61).

2. When this package is the chosen one, this means that Firefox will
use both libvpx12 (via libmozavcodec.so, if I understand correctly)
and libvpx11 (via libavcodec.so.61). Couldn't this be a problem?

This means that "libavcodec62 | libavcodec-extra62 |" should be
added to the list, I suppose.

And do the older versions of the codecs still make sense?
