Package: ruby-chef-utils Version: 16.12.3-3 Severity: normal X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected]
Dear Maintainer, in the VCS of the team-maintained package, I notice the functionality of file `debian/watch` is muted. By `git blame`, this is because of commit `06194da4` authored by Pirate Praveen on 2021-04-09 15:16:04 +0530. Thus, `uscan --verbose --no-download` currently resolves to version of 16.12.3. With the first two lines uncommented, the watch file (at `version=4`) identifies version 19.1.164 as the most recent available outside Debian. The commit message does not detail out the reasons why the watch file was disabled -- which might be obvious to members of the Debian Ruby Team (which I'm not). Perhaps the reasons back in 2021 are no longer valid today, in 2026. My initial motivation is bug #1123467 which might be affected by this bug report. Thus I would like to ask you in advance if provision of an updated package with a working watch file as a non-maintainer upload were acceptable for you, or if you prefer an update from with the Debian Ruby Team instead. -- System Information: Debian Release: forky/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.9.10-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled -- no debconf information
