Hi,

I'm currently preparing a Debian package of VisionEgg.

http://www.visionegg.org/
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=365856

This python library also contains an interface to lib3ds -- which needs
a shared lib of lib3ds. As lib3ds upstream does not provide a shared lib,
visionegg
upstream source contains lib3ds sources as well and compiles the lib
with shared lib support. As there is a lib3ds package in Debian I
disabled compiling lib3ds in the visionegg sources and intended to
depend on that. Therefore I now have the problem of a missing shared lib.

This bug is rather old and there was some progress to reenable
shared lib support 3 year ago. But it seems that this is stalled
somehow.

Are there any plan to resolve and close this bug finally?

Cheers,

Michael
