Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected] * Package name : input-leap Version : 3.0.3 Upstream Contact: #inputleap-dev on LiberaChat IRC network * URL : https://github.com/input-leap/input-leap * License : GPL-2 with OpenSSL exception Programming Lang: C++ Description : Share mouse, keyboard and clipboard over the network
Input-leap lets you easily share a single mouse and keyboard between multiple computers with different operating systems, each with its own display, without special hardware. It's intended for users with multiple computers on their desk since each system uses its own display. . Redirecting the mouse and keyboard is as simple as moving the mouse off the edge of your screen. Barrier also merges the clipboards of all the systems into one, allowing cut-and-paste between systems. . Input Leap needs to be installed on all machines that will share keyboard and mouse. . Clipboard sharing is supported (Note: Not currently supported on Linux/Wayland). Upstream states that Barrier is no longer maintained, so barrier has been dropped out of Debian. See: https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/barrier The active developers moved on to InputLeap, so it is a natural successor for Barrier. See: https://github.com/input-leap/input-leap/issues/1414. I still use Barrier but cannot install it easily (with apt) anymore. So, I'm now trying to package it. It would be awasome to have it maintained within a team, but since I'm not proficient in C++, I'd have a hard time integrating. Co-maintainers or even maintainers are very welcome for the same reason. And yes, I need a sponsor too.
