Package: openvpn Version: 2.7.0-bookworm1 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected]
Dear Maintainer, I have trouble starting openvpn-server with an encrypted private key after the upgrade to 2.7.0 After I upgraded openvpn from version 2.6.19-bookworm0 to 2.7.0-bookworm1 openvpn-server won't start with the error: "Error: private key password verification failed" after I copy-pasted the correct password as usual. Downgrading back to 2.6.19 fixed the bug for me, with the exact same password. I also checked with `openssl rsa -noout -text -in` with the same password and it worked. -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.13 APT prefers oldstable-updates APT policy: (500, 'oldstable-updates'), (500, 'oldstable-security'), (500, 'oldstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-43-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU thread; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages openvpn depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.82 ii libc6 2.36-9+deb12u13 ii libcap-ng0 0.8.3-1+b3 ii liblz4-1 1.9.4-1 ii liblzo2-2 2.10-2 ii libnl-3-200 3.7.0-0.2+b1 ii libnl-genl-3-200 3.7.0-0.2+b1 ii libpam0g 1.5.2-6+deb12u2 ii libpkcs11-helper1 1.29.0-1 ii libssl3 3.0.18-1~deb12u2 ii libsystemd0 252.39-1~deb12u1 ii sysvinit-utils [lsb-base] 3.06-4 Versions of packages openvpn recommends: ii easy-rsa 3.1.0-1 Versions of packages openvpn suggests: ii openssl 3.0.18-1~deb12u2 pn openvpn-dco-dkms <none> pn openvpn-systemd-resolved <none> pn resolvconf <none> -- debconf information: openvpn/create_tun: false
