grub 2.12 resolution was using a resolution that was not vga without anything in my settings (in /etc/default/grub I mean)Now I have the old vga resolution from 10 years ago. It does boot correctly however but I must wait until framebuffer/driver is up.
Still not fixed in 2.14-2. Visually hardly acceptable. -- Eric Valette
