I was a bit surprised that you want to add this to Debian, since it is already present in the system. For example:
$ irb --version irb 1.13.1 (2024-05-05) $ dpkg -S /usr/bin/irb ruby: /usr/bin/irb As you can see, `irb` is already provided by the `ruby` package and available out of the box.
