Package: grub-efi Version: 2.14-2 Severity: important With grub 2.14 I get a default 640x480 resolution while it was much less than that with grub 2.12. without having anything set in GRUB_GFXMODE in /etc/default/grub
On a large monitor the actual default value is not acceptable! See bug https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1119955 Trying to get back to 1920x1080 via GRUB_GFXMODE=1920x1080 The system was unbootable while still not having the desired resolution. I have no clue on how to get possible resolution for EFI framebuffers so maybe the value is incorrect but still. I had to manually reinstall which is painfull due to bug https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1119959 Both bugs have been open since early november and nothing fixed!
