Hello,

I use Debian 12 with VirtualBox 7.2.4 and GNOME Boxes.

On kernel 6.1 both work fine without any issues.

On kernel 6.12 (both 6.12.57 and 6.12.73) VirtualBox and Boxes shows this
errors when starting a virtual machine:

*GNOME Boxes QEMU log error (kernel 6.12.57):*

*Workaround I use to alternate between VirtualBox and GNOME Boxes on
6.12.57 and 6.12.73 Kernels:*
To use VirtualBox, I have to manually disable KVM:
sudo modprobe -r kvm_amd
sudo modprobe -r kvm

To use GNOME Boxes, I have to manually re-enable KVM:
sudo modprobe kvm
sudo modprobe kvm_amd

Only on kernel 6.1 this workaround is not needed — both applications work
simultaneously without any manual intervention.

Thank you!

Best regards, pac91man.
