The changelog entry "Fix autopkgtest (Closes: #1127580)" and git commit message "Fix autopkgtest #1127580" in https://salsa.debian.org/hpc-team/slurm-wlm/-/commit/918c7018f70d3cf5b1ac2c81af979a4ff724ffca does not explain in any way what the root cause is or _why_ you did the change you did, but tests sure seem to pass now.
