While installing cacti in a clean lxc container, I was asked for the password of the MySQL administrative user. However, by default that's not needed and indeed hitting return without providing anything worked.
As this was a clean container, MariaDB wasn't installed yet and I wasn't asked to provide a password. So I as the user might not have been aware that it was even installed and for sure I wouldn't know the password.
