Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

We are running Heimdal in a large OpenLDAP deployment with many thousands of
connections per hour. Over time we observe memory usage steadily increasing,
suggesting a memory leak in the Heimdal client libraries used by slapd.

Upstream has already fixed a memory leak with the following commit:

https://github.com/heimdal/heimdal/commit/739f7e0484e412de7de6d5ef1100fcc20836d19d

The patch has already been applied in Debian unstable:

https://salsa.debian.org/debian/heimdal/-/commit/9a33ad636cd26478ded51ddd069d1369effd5a2a

Since this is a small and self-contained fix for a memory leak, it would be
very helpful if this patch could be included in the trixie stable release
via stable-proposed-updates.

Thank you for maintaining Heimdal in Debian.
