Dear Arno, I would like to support this. To mention at least some specific motivation here, although quite minor, it would fix a Perl warning in 3.8.1 (released 12/2023) which I incorrectly reported to upstream, since it is already fixed in 4.0: <https://sourceforge.net/p/kpcli/bugs/59/>.
