when checking packages that used to be maintained on collab-maint on Alioth I stumbled upon fex. I continued with your changes, found a solution for bug #864176 (please verify that this solution was intended - at least piuparts is happy now), fixed some lintian errors and did a team upload of Debian team to delayed=15 (in case you might like to do further changes).
