Package: network-manager Version: 1.56.0-5 Severity: normal After an 'apt upgrade' on unstable, I'm suddenly unable to use nmtui anymore. Somehow it seems absent from the network-manager package, and there's no separate sub-package either. This rendered me pretty helpless as I was unable to connect to a wireless network again until I read up the manpage of nmcli and managed to issue the related commands. I've never used any other management UI for NetworkManager than nmtui, nor do I have any desire to do so.
Has it been deprecated? I couldn't find any related information in a quick web search. -- System Information: Debian Release: forky/sid APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.19.8+deb14-amd64 (SMP w/16 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages network-manager depends on: ii dbus [default-dbus-system-bus] 1.16.2-4 ii libaudit1 1:4.1.2-1+b1 ii libbluetooth3 5.85-4 ii libc6 2.42-14 ii libcurl3t64-gnutls 8.19.0-3 ii libglib2.0-0t64 2.88.0-1 ii libgnutls30t64 3.8.12-3 ii libmm-glib0 1.24.2-2 ii libndp0 1.9-1+b2 ii libnm0 1.56.0-5 ii libpsl5t64 0.21.5-1 ii libreadline8t64 8.3-4 ii libselinux1 3.9-4+b1 ii libsystemd0 260.1-1 ii libudev1 260.1-1 ii systemd [systemd-sysusers] 260.1-1 Versions of packages network-manager recommends: ii dnsmasq-base [dnsmasq-base] 2.92-3 ii libpam-systemd 260.1-1 ii modemmanager 1.24.2-2 ii network-manager-l10n 1.56.0-5 ii polkitd 127-2 ii ppp 2.5.2-1+1.2 ii udev 260.1-1 ii wireless-regdb 2026.02.04-1 ii wpasupplicant 2:2.10-25+b1 Versions of packages network-manager suggests: ii iptables 1.8.13-1 pn network-manager-ovs <none> pn network-manager-team <none> pn network-manager-tui <none> ii nftables 1.1.6-1 Versions of packages network-manager is related to: ii isc-dhcp-client 4.4.3-P1-8 -- Configuration Files: /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf changed [not included] -- no debconf information
