Package: apt Version: apt 3.1.6ubuntu2 (amd64)
With the current hardware shortage it would improve user experience a lot if especially old laptops and raspberries would not have to reserve so much free space for the monthly apt-upgrade. An optional feature for staged updates would rock: If there is HD space shortage, install the first layer of the dependency tree only (up to a stable configuration). The user can then call autoremove and clean (or the system does that) and continue with the next layer. Until all the updates are on the system. This would extend the life time of older hardware Cheers and thanks a lot Thorsten Sick
