Hi,
I can confirm that this issue is fixed in shim-signed version 1.49+16.1-2.
The preinst script now uses:
SB_STATE=$(mokutil --sb-state 2>&1 | grep -v "Platform is in Setup
Mode")
to filter out the multi-line output, and the upgrade succeeds.
