The ddclient upstream project released version 4.0.0 on 2025-01-19, which is a major release significantly ahead of the currently packaged 3.11.2-2.1: https://github.com/ddclient/ddclient/releases/tag/v4.0.0 The 4.x series includes protocol modernisation, improved IPv6 support, a revised configuration format, and accumulated bug fixes since 3.x. A release candidate for 4.0.1 (v4.0.1-rc.1) was tagged on 2026-05-17, indicating active upstream development continues.
