Package: rsync Version: 3.4.1+ds1-5+deb13u2 Severity: normal Tags: upstream X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected]
Dear Maintainer, After reciving the upgrade to 3.4.1+ds1-5+deb13u3 last night, backups started failing. I use the "rsyncd" server protocol, rather than rsync-over-ssh and each file that was attempted resulted in: rsync: [sender] send_files failed to open "/etc/.git/refs/heads/master" (in backup): Invalid argument (22) There is a basically identical report upstream (https://github.com/RsyncProject/rsync/issues/897), so I presume that the change will come from there. Downgrading to 3.4.1+ds1-5+deb13u2 has allowed my backups to continue, but obviously I'm missing out on the security patches. -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.5 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.12.88+deb13-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages rsync depends on: ii init-system-helpers 1.69~deb13u1 ii libacl1 2.3.2-2+b1 ii libc6 2.41-12+deb13u3 ii liblz4-1 1.10.0-4 ii libpopt0 1.19+dfsg-2 ii libssl3t64 3.5.6-1~deb13u1 ii libxxhash0 0.8.3-2 ii libzstd1 1.5.7+dfsg-1 ii zlib1g 1:1.3.dfsg+really1.3.1-1+b1 rsync recommends no packages.
