Hi Bruno, After John's test results (Thanks a lot again, John!) combined with our discussion, I believe the included patch is a reasonable compromise.
It only doubles the number of tape catalog entries and at the same time increases the optimal size for the afio files to 16MB for both streaming and non-streaming backups. (I've left the distinction in place although the numbers are the same now, to make it easy to change this again in the future if needed.)
