In case it matters, sway 1.12 works fine when started from a tty.
I got the same problem but forgot to send a message upstream, thanks for
the reminder :-).
Someone reported it already and I sent the backtrace. I don't understand
how all this works and the problem did not look obvious to me, so let's
hope upstream will be responsive.
