Hello, I can confirm this issue in the latest Debian stable (13).
I can reproduce it. Debian 13, XFCE4, no wayland.Created ~/.xgammon myself but still get this "endgame database not found" error, beside the "BadCursor (invalid Cursor parameter)" error.
It seems the software does not provide debug output. Regards, Christian
