No.

This is a header only library (i.e. no ABI change), so the upload itself cannot possibly break any *existing* package. The worst it may cause is a new FTBFS bug.

That's why we historically haven't ever gone through a transitions process with asio.

I just realize there now are many more packages actually depending on asio, so maybe it's about time to start doing that?

Or is there anybody who would rather prefer to have versioned -dev packages?
