Looking at the upstream repository, this seem to be a **vibe coded** project. With this I mean that the bulk of the code itself has been generated by an LLM, and not just that the author uses LLMs to aid in development.
This is made clear by some now deleted files once present in the Git repository, as shown in these commits:
- removed CLAUDE.md and .claude folder, <https://github.com/tobagin/digger/commit/186f85695c2245d51eb7b9365b192becf87f7e18> - 🧹 Remove Claude Code configuration files from repository, <https://github.com/tobagin/digger/commit/daa2a835b61538ec1bd757f9856242913e57b657> - added TODO.md, CONTRIBUTING.md and archived spec, <https://github.com/tobagin/digger/commit/0dd1dbef6e75d5e67fce4c32971e3396fb2e5fea>
The last one (commit 0dd1dbe) in particular, deletes the so called "spec", which seems to be a session file output by an LLM documenting the steps it made to generate portions of the code.
Due to the uncertainties related to copyright status of code and texts output from LLMs in many legal systems (ignoring other social and moral aspects), and the fact that these portions seem substantive, I'm not sure if we in Debian want to distribute this software.
Hope it makes sense. Bye!
