Description:
Upgrading smartmontools from 7.3 to 7.4 causes detailed SMART data to
no longer be returned for certain SAS drives accessed via Dell PERC
H800 (MegaRAID - Broadcom / LSI MegaRAID SAS 2108 [Liberator])
passthrough. Only basic device information is returned. Downgrading to
7.3 (from bookworm) restores full SMART data without any other changes.

Affected drives: 
- Vendor: HITACHI  
- Product: HUC151414CSS600  
- Revision: K772  
- Compliance: SPC-4  

Unaffected drives (identical model, older firmware):
- Revision: K516 (full SMART data returned correctly under both 7.3 and
7.4)

Environment:  
- OS: Debian Trixie  
- Controller: Dell PERC H800 (MegaRAID)  
- smartctl device type: '-d megaraid,N'
- Kernel: Linux 6.12.94+deb13-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian
6.12.94-1 (2026-06-20) x86_64 GNU/Linux
- libc6: 2.41-12+deb13u3

Note: likely not a kernel regression (tested 3 prior kernel revisions
with 7.4, issue persists  

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install smartmontools 7.4 on a system with a PERC H800 containing
HUC151414CSS600 drives at firmware revision K772
2. Run 'smartctl -a /dev/sda -d megaraid,7'
3. Observe only basic SMART information is returned

Expected result:
Full SCSI SMART data including error counters, temperature logs, defect
lists and cycle counts, as returned by smartmontools 7.3

Actual result:
Only basic device identification block returned; no log page data

Workaround:
Downgrade to smartmontools 7.3 (from Debian Bookworm)
