Package: ion3 Version: 20060524-1 Severity: wishlist
Hi, I just installed a small mod for Ion3 called mod_xrandr. A denizen of #ion told me about it and saved me the hassle of writing up a Lua script to restart Ion3 everytime I change the resolution with xrandr. You can find the mod at http://modeemi.fi/~tuomov/repos/. mod_xrandr is _very_ small (only 4379 bytes of code); it really doesn't do much crazy. For some reason, Tuomo has't included it with the mods in the standard Ion3 repository. I suspect this isn't so much because Tuomo thinks it's unworthy, but more because he might not be the author of it, so it feel separate from the rest of his work. Still, though, it might be worth while getting his opinion on the code. Even if it is partially broken. I personally wouldn't mind if it were included in the ion3 Debian package, documented clearly as possibly an incomplete work or a silly hack, and by default not selected by the system-wide Ion3 configuration. At least for me, though, it seems to work as advertised. It compiled very easily for me, so if you do decide to include it in the Debian package, it shouldn't be much work to integrate it in on your end.
